Peaceful Location
Our guests love the peaceful location of Les Gites Sur La Colline, in the middle of nature yet a short walk from local services. With open, expansive views to the east, south and west, the colline is bathed in light from dawn till dusk (and we do have some magnificent sunsets here). We even have panoramic views from our swimming pool !
We strive to make your stay as relaxing and welcoming as possible, and our calm environment is just one way that we achieve this.

Beautiful Gardens
We have also created beautiful gardens on our property - Les Jardins du Pays de Lauzun. As a guest in our gite, you have free access to the gardens whenever you wish, as well as private access to areas closed to the public.
The gardens are the latest creative project of Thierry Lecetre, creator of the 'Jardin Remarquable' on Ile D'Oleron, recognised by the French Ministry of Culture.
You can enjoy specialised gardening workshops, general advice, or even lend a hand in the gardens if you are feeling inspired !

A Choice of Activities (or none !)
We treat all our guests as we would like to be treated - as individuals. So we offer a small range of garden workshops and other activities, tailored to your requirements.
Being located in a region full of ancient 'Bastide' towns, there are also regular cultural activities, culinary events, wine tasting tours and traditional artisanal markets in towns nearby. There are also numerous walking routes around the area. Or you can simply relax by the pool and explore our delightful gardens, meadows and woodland at your own pace.

Acres and Acres of Space for You
When we first saw this location we knew that it would be perfect. Acres and acres of countryside, with panoramic views, tucked away hidden corners, shady woodland and sunny wildflower meadows.
We have no neighbours nearby either, so you can explore, picnic, ramble, exercise, read, paint or just snooze in a hammock or by the pool in complete privacy.
Dogs and other pets are welcome too, as long as they are well-behaved and respectful of the peace and quiet of others.

The Gites
We offer two adjacent, but separate, small gites: a modern studio and a more rustic styled one-bedroom retreat. Each has its own terrace with table and chairs, plus sunloungers and parasols by the pool.
Both gites are fully equipped with everything you need for a short or a long stay. As they are completely separate from our house and even face in the opposite direction, you are assured of privacy (we can also install an additional privacy screen on your terrace if you wish). Although if you want to chat we are usually around somewhere on the 5 hectare property.
Kitchen equipment includes: fridge, gas hob, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, large toaster, cookware, crockery and cutlery. We provide bedding and towels free of charge plus a small welcome pack as a gift with coffee, tea, chilled water in the fridge.
There are board games, jigsaws, free wifi and multiple USB charging stations in both gites.
*If you would like us to provide a larger welcome pack for example bread, butter, honey, jam, cheese, eggs, tomatoes, pasta and rice, then let us know as we can also arrange this for a fee depending on what you require*.
Dogs and other pets are welcome here, as long as they are well-behaved and respectful of other's peace and quiet.

We want you to have your ideal break when you stay with us, as relaxed or as active as you wish. If you are looking for more to do than relaxing by the pool or in our gardens, we offer a small number of optional services and activities to guests.
You can reserve these below and payment can be made on arrival.
